In order to provide a high-quality free service to our guests, Jimmy’s relies on the kindness and hard work of our volunteers. In return, we provide our volunteers with a safe, supportive environment where they feel truly valued and can get the most out of the time they spend with us.
You can benefit in so many ways from volunteering at Jimmy’s, from building confidence, making new friends and being part of a community to developing skills, enhancing your CV and boosting your career options. Most importantly, you will be giving a helping hand to some of the most vulnerable and excluded people in our society.
For many volunteers, working at Jimmy’s may be their first experience of meeting people who are experiencing homelessness, have mental health issues or have drink or drug problems. For some, this first shift has changed their lives, and many have gone on to a career working with homeless and vulnerable people, both in the UK and abroad. Countless others have willingly given their time and support to Jimmy’s and its guests over many years, making a real difference to the well-being of our guests.
Jimmy’s is the winner of the Queen’s Award for Outstanding Voluntary Service in the Community
