Jimmy’s: Rights & Responsibilities

With thanks to current and former guests who helped to write this charter.

You have the right to:

  • Dignity, privacy and respect
  • Be treated as an individual in a non-judgemental way
  • Expect confidentiality and honesty
  • Your safety
  • Be involved in your support and resettlement plans
  • Be involved in how Jimmy’s is run and the services we provide
  • Make a complaint or appeal against decisions made by Jimmy’s staff
  • View information we have about you
  • Take responsibility for your own actions
  • Fair and equal opportunities in Jimmy’s

You have a responsibility to:

  • Treat other guests, staff and volunteers with respect
  • Be honest with us
  • Observe the rules of Jimmy’s
  • Fully engage with your support and resettlement programme
  • Look after your belongings and keep your room clean
  • Respect Jimmy’s rights

Jimmy’s promise to you

We have a responsibility to:

  • Respect your rights
  • Provide an impartial, non-judgemental service
  • Ensure the premises is kept clean, safe and in good repair
  • Involve you in your support and resettlement plans
  • Regularly review your support and resettlement plans
  • Take your comments and complaints seriously
  • Look after any property you give us for safe-keeping

We have a right to:

  • Be treated with respect
  • Ensure Jimmy’s is safe and peaceful for all
  • Work with other agencies about your housing and support needs
  • Take action if rules are breached
